Self-Compassion Kicks Self-Esteem’s Ass!

Been a year since I switched. Instead of rebuilding self-esteem after setbacks, I practice self-compassion and it’s excellent! Unless you delight in hating people – then – not so much. “Self-compassion is extending compassion to one’s self in instances of perceived inadequacy, failure, or general suffering. Kristin Neff, creator of the Self Compassion scales, defined self-compassion as being composed of three main components – self-kindness, common humanity, and mindfulness (Self-Compassion).” A year in, the self-hating thoughts are a lot less, but like I foreshadowed, if your vanity plate says “H8RKING” ignore this advice. Ignore the self-esteem building I mentioned too. I was never here.
